THE USE OF PRAYCARDS

Bishop Barron teaches that “the slightest cooperation with God’s grace can provoke a massive spiritual change.” In other words, even a small “yes” to God’s will can lead to a profound transformation in our lives. This cooperation is not about human effort alone, but about humble trust in God’s power to work through even the smallest actions, such as returning to prayer, reaching out in faith, or listening attentively to His voice through our conscience.

  • A small step is enough: Even a minimal act of faith, or a simple willingness to cooperate with God’s grace, can spark a significant spiritual shift.

  • Grace and cooperation: Salvation involves both God’s grace and our response to that grace through acts of faith and love.

  • The role of faith: A small amount of faith is enough to accomplish what seems impossible, as shown when the disciples asked Jesus to increase their faith so they could forgive generously.

  • How to cooperate: Cooperation may look like returning to church, beginning a prayer routine, or paying attention to a meaningful word or encounter, as in the story of the woman with the hemorrhage.

  • The power of God: God’s grace is powerful and transformative. What appears to be the smallest or most unlikely action may be exactly what God uses to do great things.

Little Tips: “Persevere, and God will not let you down”

  1. Find a quiet moment during the day, preferably early in the morning, after lunch, or just before going to bed.
The idea is to spend about three minutes per card. If you need more time, that is perfectly fine.

  2. Take one card and read it carefully. If possible, do this in front of a crucifix or an image of the Virgin Mary at home, or in a nearby church. If that is not possible, do not worry. You can be at your desk or on public transportation. God is still watching over you and caring for you.

  3. Reflect on the words and how this message can help you in your own life, for about two minutes.

  4. Ask God for guidance to identify one small, concrete action related to that theme and incorporate it into your daily life.

  5. We suggest the following plan (this is only a guide; feel free to organize it in the way that works best for you):

Day 1 – Anxiety → Peace
Start the week with a card from numbers 1–20.
With God’s help, focus on transforming restlessness into inner calm.
Set your intention for the day.

Day 2 – Appreciation → Gratitude
Choose a card from numbers 61–80.
Gratitude changes perspective. We have many gifts for which to thank God, even if we are not always aware of them.
Set your intention for the day.

Day 3 – Loneliness → Love
Choose a card from numbers 21–40.
Inner loneliness can become connection and openness to God and to others.
Set your intention for the day.

Day 4 – Sadness → Hope
Take a card from numbers 42–60.
Let a spark of hope brighten even the grayest days. With God, victory is assured.
Set your intention for the day.

Day 5 – Burn out → Purpose
Select a card from numbers 81–100.
Find meaning and direction when fatigue weighs you down. Lean on God in your daily responsibilities.
Set your intention for the day.

Day 6 – Existential Void → Fulfillment
Choose a card from numbers 101–120.
We are made for happiness, and only God can truly fulfill it.
Set your intention for the day.

Day 7 – Guilt → Forgiveness
End the week with a card from numbers 121–140.
We all fail at times, but God’s mercy is always greater than our guilt.
Set your intention for the day.

Weekly Bonus (also ideal for Sundays):

Family Relationships → Spirit of Service(141-150)
Once a week, on a day when family members are most likely to be together, choose a card from numbers 141–150.

You can repeat this cycle as many times as you like. The Holy Spirit may inspire new insights each time you reflect on the same card. The key is perseverance and starting again. Do not be discouraged. We can all find three minutes a day.

It is recommended that you organize your time so that, little by little, these moments of reflection with God are accompanied by the reception of the sacraments, especially Confession and Holy Communion. Confession every two weeks is encouraged, and always whenever you need it. Regular attendance at Holy Mass is also recommended. You may also choose to add a small form of fasting, such as limiting time on social media, and acts of charity, such as calling a family member or friend you have not spoken to in a while.

Through this challenge, if you allow God to help you, your life can truly change for the better. God is waiting and ready to help you right now.
