From Guilt
to Forgiveness
Mercy is not what you deserve — it is what God gives freely
Guilt can be a gift that leads us home, or a prison that keeps us from it. God's forgiveness is not a reward for the remorseful — it is a gift for the willing.
Understanding the Struggle
The Weight You Carry
You carry it still. The thing you said, the thing you did, the thing you left undone. Shame whispers that you are too broken, too far gone, too defined by your worst moments. You feel unworthy of love, unworthy of prayer, unworthy of God. You keep your distance — from the Sacraments, from community, from prayer itself. As if staying away were a form of penance.
The Gospel Perspective
What Jesus Teaches
The prodigal son rehearsed his apology all the way home — but the father never let him finish it. He was already running toward his son while he was still a long way off. This is who God is: not a judge waiting to condemn, but a Father running toward you. Jesus did not die for the righteous. He died for sinners — which means He died for you, specifically and personally.

Closing Prayer
Act of Hope and Confidence in God
Father, I come to You carrying the weight of what I have done and left undone. I have been afraid You would turn me away. But Your Word says You are faithful to forgive. I receive that forgiveness now — not because I deserve it, but because Your Son paid the price. Let Your mercy be louder than my shame. I am Yours. Amen.
